Bimetallic Aluminium–Copper Cable Lugs

An aluminium barrel joined to a copper palm. Use them to connect aluminium cable safely to copper busbars and terminals, without galvanic corrosion at the joint.

What this product is

When aluminium touches copper directly, the joint corrodes over time. A bimetallic lug solves this: the barrel is aluminium (for the aluminium cable) and the palm is copper (for the copper busbar), joined by friction welding so the two metals meet in a sealed, solid bond. The barrel is crimped onto the cable like a normal crimp lug, and the copper palm bolts onto the equipment. Palms can be tin plated for extra protection.

Send the aluminium cable size and the copper terminal it connects to. We quote the barrel, palm size and bolt hole, and make a sample before production.
